Horse shows are a fabulous way for you or your child to show off the skills you have acquired and progress you have made during your lessons at the farm. Students interested in showing will be offered a chance to try it out on a local level first. If you already have extensive show experience and own or have owned show horses before, you may want to show at a regional or even world-class level. If you are new to all of it, we can help you achieve your goals over time in our riding program. Showing at the regional, national, or world level would require you to lease or purchase a "show horse," because the lesson horses cannot perform at the higher levels. Please talk to your instructor about the possiblilty of showing and learn about what you need to do to reach your goals! Adults and children not participating in the shows are always encouraged to come to the horse shows and cheer us on! Also, those wishing to show with RS need to acquire the proper memberships, according to where they want to show, be it local, regional, or national. Talk to Yvonne about memberships.

Horse Show forms are available in person only. I'll give you the papers and checklists when you sign up to show. Thanks!

Show Clothing is necessary for showing horses. We recommend buying a used suit that was made of nice material rather than a new suit made of cheap material. Used suits can be altered. Here are some clothing companies we suggest. Some of them are consignment shops and some are custom makers. The consigment shops are good for growing kids and academy riders. We can help you select your riding attire when it comes time to do so.

It is a good idea to join COSCA, OMHA, & AMHA if you are interested in showing. Also, attend some shows and watch some Morgan classes to get an idea of what showing is. It is a good idea to be familiar with our local show grounds, such as Medina and Ashland. The more you attend as a spectator, the better you'll understand!Yvonne takes clients (who are unfamiliar with shows) to watch a show sometimes, to show them and explain about the idea of showing. We hope to get a few of our clients into showing this summer & next summer!
